I Love It When Things Like This Happen

I have wanted a new crockpot ever since I moved into my house almost 18 months ago. It hasn't been at the top of my priority list until recent months, that is when I started working every day and have come to realize that I need some better meal planning tools. I have looked at the crockpots in the stores and then passed them by thinking that I'd buy one another day, or when they were on sale. This morning I decided that I have looked long enough, I wanted a crockpot before this Sunday's family dinner, so I went to Target with the intent of coming home with one. When I arrived at the store I got a cart and picked up a couple of items on my way to the crockpots. I made a little detour and came across a clearance endcap, and what do you suppose was on clearance? CROCKPOTS. The exact size and brand I wanted, in fact the exact crockpot I had looked at a week ago. And they were on clearance for $12.48. WHAT!?! Then I remembered that I had a $5.00 Target giftcard in my wallet. I bought my crockpot for $7.48. YES!! $7.48. There were several of them there, so if you need a 5 qt.crockpot... go to Target. Don't you just love stories like that?

Winter Favorites

These are just a few of the things that I enjoy during the winter months: hot cocoa (especially the minty kind), my cozy clothes, hot bubble baths, "Survivor", and here's a new one... peanut m&m's tossed over hot popcorn... try it, it's fabulous!!! And I'm looking forward to me and Tiffany's semi-annual-just-like-conference 'favorites party' which we will be hosting in the spring!

Every year I look forward to Superbowl Sunday. It is the only time that I actually sit down and watch a football game on TV. Each year our family gathers at Jeff and Melissa's for the best Superbowl party ever. We are looking forward to it even more this year, because the Green Bay Packers are playing and Michael has been a Packers fan since he was seven-years-old. As for me... I like the Packers too. My reasons are probably not the usual reasons for liking a football team, but hey, when you only watch football once a year who really needs a reason. GO PACKERS!!!

Do You Love Raymond?

Several months ago Michael and I made a discovery; Everybody Loves Raymond. Since then we have laughed hilariously at Raymond reruns. Today we watched an episode that had a familiar ring to it... Raymond was nominated for the sportswriter of the year award. He was very pessimistic about the nomination, he just knew that if he won, something bad would come of it (his idea of bad turned out to be a promotion; which meant more work, more hours, more responsibility... seriously; RAY!!!). So here's where the familiar enters... while waiting for the winner to be announced, Ray's wife Debra tries to encourage him by saying, "it's great to be nominated!" Sound familiar to you? Ray's response, "that's what losers say!" Hmmmmm... I beg to differ. How about you... do you love Raymond?
